Download the latest Data Lifeguard tools from Western Digital. Data Lifeguard downloadable tools now come in both DOS and Windows versions and were written specifically for the installation of Western Digital EIDE hard drives.
If your computer system already has a hard disk drive installed with a Windows 98SE or higher operating system, you must use the Windows version of Data Lifeguard for best results.
The DOS version is required if you install a hard drive on a new system without support for the existing operating system. If you plan to copy the contents of a boot drive, Western Digital recommends using the DOS version of Data Lifeguard Tools.
